7 Ways to Make Your Lips Pop on Date Night

7 Ways to Make Your Lips Pop on Date Night

There is nothing worse than your date going in for the kiss at the end of the night and your lips are drier than a desert. So how do you make them pop? I’ll share with you my 7 tips to keep you lips looking kissable all night long.

Homemade lip scrub

  1. Exfoliate

You should exfoliate your lips at least once a week. Not only does it get rid of dead skin but it helps keep your lips looking healthy. You can buy a lip exfoliator or DIY. I made my own using brown sugar, honey, and coconut oil. You can use a small tupperwear container to hold the mixture, I just used an old Tarte eye cream container for mine. I didn’t measure just mixed them until it reached a consistency I liked. After rubbing the mixture on your lips you can lick it off (yum!) or gently remove with a damp washcloth. Just make sure you store it in a cool place so to coconut oil doesn’t melt.

  1. Moisturize

After you exfoliate it’s important to add moisture back to your lips. I always keep some on me because I’m obsessed with applying chapstick to my lips. My go to is Carmex but you can use whatever lip balm or chapstick you’d like.

  1. Go Bold

Embrace your inner Rihanna and rock the loudest, boldest color you own. It will draw attention to your lips making it hard for them to resist at the end of the night. Just make sure the rest of your makeup is minimal so you don’t look clownish.

  1. Send Nudes!

You can never go wrong with a nude lip. Nine times out of ten when you see me I’ll be wearing a nude lip. The key to a perfect nude lip is a brown lip liner. It can quickly turn an ashy look to a flawless one. I share one of my favorite nude liquid lipsticks in this post.

  1. Glossy

Take it back to your 8th grade Lip Smackers days and just slap a lip-gloss on! It’s minimal, easy to reapply, and is great for a low-key date. Lately I’ve been applying a liner all over my lips then adding a gloss over it. Or, you can use a tinted gloss to add a little color.

  1. Classic Red Lip

It’s been scientifically proven that a red lip looks good on everyone. The key is to find your shade of red. Like with the bold look, keep your eye makeup simple. I like to do a cat eye or winged black liner with a red lip to make the look more sultry.

  1. Au Natural

Sometimes no lipstick is the best kind. If you exfoliate and moisturize your lips will always be poppin. My favorite
