I am not here to tell you exactly what to get your significant other for Valentine’s Day. If I were to do that, I would essentially just tell you what I want and honestly, I don’t think they would appreciate getting a bouquet of a dozen heart shaped glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme and a teddy bear unless they would and if that’s the case, please inform them that they are my new best friend in the whole wide world!!!!!!!
What I am going to do today is help you think a little bit deeper when it comes to buying a gift period but especially for Valentine’s Day. I am the gift magician in my family. From finding the exact item on everyone’s Christmas list to finding that object that your aunt has never seen but knows is out there and described to you in vivid detail, you name it and I’ll find it. It’s not a skill that I specifically honed or crafted. My preferred Love Language for others just happens to be gift giving.
Here is my winning formula
1. Know who you’re buying for
2. Ask someone close to them
3. Stalk their social media/reread text conversations for ideas
4. Shop around
5. Trust your gut
My favorite gift I gave in 2015 was a photo album with photos of Caleb and I throughout our 2 years together for our anniversary. He’s very old fashioned and mentioned how he wished we had printed pictures of us instead of the multiple pics I have on my phone and social media. Being the hopeless romantic and creative person that I am, I couldn’t just wrap the gift and give it to him. It’s also all about the PRESENTATION.
Check it out below and don’t forget to share your gifts with us.
FYI, the pics are attached to balloons
